1946 - 1955

1946:

Fourteenth meeting of Eranos. Jung presents: "The spirit of Psychology", later changed to "Nature of the Psyche". Preface and epilog to "Essays on contemporary events", "The struggle with the Shadow", "Psychology of transference".


1947:

Retirement to "The Tower"of Böllingen. Fifteenth meeting of Eranos. Jung is absent.


1948:

Sixteenth meeting of Eranos, Jung presents:"On the Self and Unconscious". Foundation of the C.G. Jung Institute in Zürich.


1949:

Seventeenth meeting of Eranos, Jung is absent.


1950:

Eighteenth meeting of Eranos. Jung is absent again.Prologue to "I Ching" translated by his friend Wilheim.


1951:

Nineteenth meeting of Eranos, this time Jung presents: " Ön Synchronicity","Aiön: research in the phenomenology of the Self","Fundamental problems in Psychotherapy".

 


1952:

Synchronicity: A principle of acasual connection. Prologue to the book by Rev, White: "God and the Unconscious", prologue to the book by Weblowsky "Lucifer and Prometeus","Response to Job".



1953:

Antonia (Tony) Wolff dies. Jung suffers a depression.

Prologue to J. Weir Perrey's work: "The Self in the psychotic processes. Its symbolization in schizophrenia".

1954:

He publishes: "The Psychology of the misleading figure". Anniela Jaffé and ohers publish an anthology of Jung's fragments "The world of Psyche".


1955:

Death of his wife, Emma Jung.

He receives the Doctorate Honoris Causa from Eidgenossische Technische Hochschule, Zürich, on the occasion of celebrating his 80th birthday.

Culmination and conclusion of his studies on Alchemy, "Mandalas","Mysterium Coniunctionis". (first volume)
